This is the second of five workshops planned by the Working Group on Microfoundations of Civil War for the period 2003-2007.

It will be organized by Gregory Reichberg (PRIO/CSCW) and Stephen Holmes (NYU). It was held 25-26 February 2005, at Columbia University.

The workshop focused on the implicit analytical apparatus of this classic study of civil wars, as well as on Thucydides' influence on subsequent thinking on the topic.
